So sorry for the late reply Nancy! You can easily omit the Guinness if you like and use another stout or pilsner. If it’s the alcohol, use beef stock instead (See Note 1 in recipe card).

I was looking for a lamb stew recipe and found yours. Loved that it is a family recipe. We do not care for Guinness, but do like beer. Is there a good beer substitute? (I know- do i really have Irish in me- yes i do).

Andrew I have been slowly migrating recipe posts over to my other website Silk Road Recipes that no longer fall under the Mexican, Tex Mex and BBQ theme (as well as US classic recipes). The Lamb Tagine can be found there now and I would really appreciate any comment you have on the dish there.
