These addictive spiced walnuts are coated in a warm blend of spices then oven toasted. Make this recipe for delicious spicy roasted walnuts for a healthy snack!
These nuts are fantastic for parties, afternoon snacks and game day eats.
Did you know that more than 99% of the walnuts in U.S. are grown in the fertile soils of California’s Central Valley. Internationally, California walnuts supply three-quarters of the world’s walnut trade. Pretty amazing!
Spiced walnuts
With only 6 ingredients added to season the California walnuts, the nuts still shine through in flavor.
I mixed up some of my favorite ingredients like soy sauce, Tabasco, curry powder and butter to coat the walnut before toasting in the oven. The aroma that fills the kitchen is wonderful.
Needless to say, nuts are a healthy snack, and the spiced walnuts are a favorite. They’re so delicious!
How to store roasted nuts
Store your spiced walnuts in an airtight container can keep them on hand for parties, snacking and sprinkling on salads.

I didn’t see any comment on using olive oil instead of butter. Hopefully they would still be good!
I’m sure they would Cheryl.
Will it be good without the butter? I need a good diet snack.
I would try using a beaten egg white instead, but as I’ve yet to try it that way I am not sure how they will turn out. You just need something to get the spices to cling to the walnuts. Let me know and I will update the recipe card with the information. 🙂
HOW LONG DO THEY LAST AT ROOM TEMP? How do you store them?
Not sure how to answer that one Emilie. I put them out and they’re gone in a short time, about an hour. Keep any leftover in an airtight container like any other nut.
Just made these, following the recipe exactly and oh man they are soooo tasty. Thank you!
Did the house smell amazing after, too? These are insanely delicious! 🙂
YES!!! the house smells amazing!! And the snacks are all gone …I will be making more. Thank you!
Fantastic!
Is the curry yellow or red?
I updated the recipe card to reflect, but it’s a yellow Rebecca.
